When I was in year 11 of high school I was bullied a bit for not being the same as everyone else. I didn’t want to drink, smoke, go to parties or go out with boys and so I became a target for everyone to pick on at school. I was 100kgs and so people would make fun of my weight and make smirky comments when I ate food or sat on a seat.
“Sia careful the chairs gunna break”
“You’re still eating?”
“Do you need to eat that?”
I tried to ignore it but found that even my so-called ‘friends’ started to laugh and say nothing in my defense. One day I was at home and a girl around the same age as me moved in next door with her family. Leah was from a different school but we became best friends and hung out with each other every day. However, as we became closer friends I found myself in the middle of another best friend relationship she had. Her friend, Beatrice became jealous and started sending me hateful messages. To no surprise, she was friends with a lot of the popular kids at my school and this made it harder for me in class.
I spoke to Leah about what happened but she told me to ignore it. One day Beatrice was angry and jealous at Mia because of me and she started a huge fight with Leah. I was of course involved and told Beatrice to leave us alone. Leah invited me to her grandma's house in a rural area for a sleepover with some of her other friends. I went to the sleepover however it wasn’t the type of sleepover that I had in mind. They had set up a tiny 2 person tent in the backyard and I went in with the other girls. All of a sudden they started to change their clothes and do their makeup. Then the girls all pulled out alcohol and a bong from their bags. I was shocked and they were staring at me and telling me to copy them. I didn’t however then they got up to leave somewhere and told me to hurry up I asked what was going on and they told me just to follow them. We started working a 3kilometer walk and they told me were heading to a party. We were walking along the road but there were no lights and it was pitch black, every time a car appeared we had to jump into the bush and hide. I had a huge hive reaction and my legs were bleeding and covered with red lumps, my eyes were puffy and filled with green muck and I was in a lot of pain. I sat on the road and refused to follow them any further and so they carried on without me. Leah stayed by my side and I waited for the next car to pass, which was thankfully a police car. Without saying a word at first I got into the back seat and Leah tried to pull me out telling the officers that we were okay. I asked the officers to take me home and they told Leah to get in the car and we drove back to her Grandmas house. By this time it was, 2 am in the morning and Leah begged the police not to wake up her grandparents but they did and Leah was in a lot of trouble. Then her grandmother got into the car with Leah and went to pick up the other girls at the party. That night I slept in the living room while the rest of the girls were outside in the tent but then all of a sudden I heard these guy voices and within minutes there was all this moaning and the tiny tent was shaking. It was disgusting 4 girls and 4 guys in a tiny tent doing who knows what. I tried to ignore it however it was so loud and unbearable to listen to so I went to the door and yelled,
“Leah your grandpas awake!!”
All of a sudden the tent was in mayhem the top of the tent flew up and 4 nude boys ran out with clothes in one hand and their shoes in another. I went back to sleep and the next day when I woke up. I realized things were bad due to the girl’s attitude and facials towards me. I got home and from that day onwards things began to get a lot worse.
